Tree plantation

Every sapling geo-tagged, watered for three years, and counted again in public — including the ones that die.

Planting is the easy half

Photographs of planting day are not results. A sapling in this climate needs shade in its first summer, water through two dry seasons, and protection from goats. Survival at 36 months is the only number worth quoting, so it is the one we publish.

How a drive runs

  1. Site selected from the tree-cover map and agreed with the landowner or the school.
  2. Species matched to soil, salinity and available water — not to nursery surplus.
  3. Pits dug a week ahead, so planting day is planting, not digging.
  4. Each sapling geo-tagged as it goes in, with species and sponsor recorded.
  5. Watering roster for 24 months, then counts at 6, 18 and 36 months.

A sponsorship covers the sapling, the pit, the guard and two years of water. You get the coordinates, the species, and a photograph at each count. Sponsor one, or sponsor a row along a school wall.

Sponsorships and drive bookings both go through the contact page — tell us the number of trees and the tehsil.
