Free Urdu Teaching Module on Waste and Recycling for Bahawalpur Schools

A free, ready-to-teach environmental module for schools in Bahawalpur — six lessons on waste, recycling and composting, written in Urdu for Classes 6 to 8. Download it, photocopy it, teach it tomorrow.

The complaint we hear from teachers is not that environmental science is hard to teach. It is that the material available to them is in English, or written for a country with a different climate and a different waste system, or built around equipment a government school in South Punjab simply does not have.

This module was made to answer that. It is in Urdu, it is grounded in what actually happens to waste in Bahawalpur, and every activity in it can be done with things a school already owns: an old bucket, dry leaves, newspaper, and a trowel.

How it maps to the syllabus

This is not a replacement for the General Science curriculum. Each lesson is written to be taught next to an existing chapter — Ecology in Class 8, Physical and Chemical Changes in Class 7, and Technology in Everyday Life in both. The full mapping table is printed on page 2 of the PDF.

Why the lessons are local

Lesson 2 asks students to map their own route to school and mark every place rubbish collects. Lesson 5 asks them to record, over one week, how often they see waste being burned near their home. These are not imported exercises. They produce a picture of a specific neighbourhood in a specific city, which is what makes the conversation in the classroom real.

Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no email, no fee. Photocopy it, pass it to colleagues, make as many copies as your school needs. The only request is that you leave the organisation name and website on the page, so other teachers can find the next module.
